Forest Schools Training - About Us

Since 2009 North Yorkshire Forest School Training has been promoting the sustainable use of woodland and other natural environments for learning and providing courses that give the skills, qualifications and support network to achieve this.

North Yorkshire Forest School Training is an approved training provider of NOCN Forest School courses, and in 2016 became the first approved provider in England of NOCN Coastal School courses.

We have delivered accredited Forest School training courses since 2009. Our courses are led by qualified and experienced teachers and Forest School Leaders. Our lead trainer, Hazel Canning, is a Forest School Association Endorsed Forest School Trainer, having met set standards associated with providing high quality training experiences.

The First Aid trainers are experienced at delivering Outdoor and Paediatric First Aid courses and are accredited by the Association of First Aiders to deliver HSE approved courses.

Who do we work with?

North Yorkshire Forest School Training works with a number of organisations to deliver Forest School and Coastal School training courses including Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle, Durham Wildlife Trust, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and RHS Garden Harlow Carr.
